Relationship with the Community

Orosur Mining Inc. implements and develops annual structured community plans in Uruguay and Chile.

In both cases, regulated by community Committees with representatives from the company’s Senior Management and delegates from social organizations from the area of influence where Orosur operates or explores.

We also manage agreements with local governments and native communities trying to create alliances fostering the best solutions to the particular needs of the families from the areas surrounding our projects.

We help to improve the life quality of people developing tasks in the group’s companies, and we also help the community.

We develop training programs for young people, directly and together with the local government.

We carry out donations of goods and services; cooperating with multiple public and private institutions and social organizations.

In Uruguay we also participate directly and indirectly in activities and festivities taking place in Minas de Corrales, we give support to events such as celebrations organized by the local Patriotic Commission, and we occasionally participate in activities from reference native societies, sports championships and national parties.

Since 2005, we have carried out a strategic alliance with Desem to foster the training of young students providing funds and qualified human resources for their better development.

The local hospital, "El hogar de Ancianos" (elderly people home), “Merendero” (food charity institution), police stations and social clubs from the area as well as institutions with regional and national activities such as Tacuarembó Hospital and Peluffo Giguens have received Orosur’s support.

We have also assisted regional annual events such as Fiesta de la Patria Gaucha in Tacuarembó and Feria de las Naciones de Rivera, the capital of this department.

Agreements Signed

Agreements with Minas de Corrales local government have been signed in Uruguay, including managing rural roads repairs, building barbecues in recreation areas for free use of the inhabitants, and donations of material to repair housing in critical condition.

In Copiapó area, Chile, we have signed with Pai Ote native community, in the presence of CONAMA delegates an agreement of regulation Framework and support to families in the area.

Visits

We have coordinated tours with different social, tourist and government organizations, with the aim of spreading Orosur’s mining projects, providing information on the different developments operated by the organization during exploration and open pit operation and recently developing an underground mine, all with great success.

Orosur Mining Inc. provides the community a vision of work quality, good practices and safe work development, fostering integration policies in all social and economic environment levels.
